Edward_King_(civil_rights_activist)


Edward King is a civil rights activist.


King was chaplain of [[Tougaloo College]] in [[Mississippi]] in the 1950s and 1960s, and a prominent member of the [[Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party]].  He was one of the few white people in either the college or the party.


In 1964, he was one of only two MFDP members allowed as delegates to the Democratic National Convention.
